NewStory SGV was birthed with a vision to spread the good news of Jesus to the San Gabriel Valley. 

We whole-heartedly believe that all of the personal and community problems we face can be solved through a relationship with Jesus. We aim to create a community where singles and families can experience God through faithful Bible teaching, service-oriented living, reflection, spiritual practices and belonging. 

We plan on launching the church once we have enough team members for the ministry we envision. In the meanwhile, we are holding Vision Services for those who are interested in being a part of the launch team. 

We are thankful for all of our partners including our sending church NewStory LA.

Pastoral Family

Pastor Dustin Lang was born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. He grew up exposed to Buddhism and Christianity but became more drawn to the latter (the food options might’ve been a big factor). He chased the American dream but was left empty and unfulfilled. While at a Christian basketball camp in junior high, his eyes were opened to the truth and beauty of the gospel. His life has never been the same since. He is a product of the UC system (go Bears and Bruins!) but is most proud of completing his seminary degree at Talbot. He enjoys tennis, gospel piano, and California burritos.

Jennifer was born and raised in the quiet Arizona town of Gilbert. She grew up watching her parents host missionaries and small group gatherings in their home. For this reason, church has always been associated with fond memories. She had a radical encounter with God while on a college missions trip where she surrendered her life to Jesus. She works in the tech space but devotes her spare time to caring for the church. She is a proud alumni of Pepperdine and enjoys coffee, Pilates, and meaningful conversations. 

Pastor Dustin and Jennifer have been happily married since 2017. They have been shaped by ministries that prioritized discipleship, missions, deep Bible teaching, expressions of the Holy Spirit, and community.
